Antique 14kt Gold Old Euro Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring
A stunning ring made from a marriage of antique Victorian parts. The shank appears to be an original antique shank that has had an original old European cut diamond set into it. It is an excellent marriage and the two parts are from around the same period. The lovely solid 14kt gold shank has been hallmarked in Warsaw in Poland and has a striking linear design in the shoulders. Set in the four double claw setting is a wonderful old European cut diamond. The diamond spreads around 6mm in diameter making it look as though it is around 0.8 of a carat. Actually, the diamond cut is fairly shallow and it is likely to weigh approximately 0.65cts. It has a lovely small table, typical of an old European cut diamond, and 58 sparkly facets that allow the light to bounce around the stone. The diamond is around an H/I colour, SI2 clarity. There is an inclusion off to one side when the diamond is viewed through a loupe, though the overall appearance of the diamond is bright with lovely scintillation. A truly beautiful ring.
