Antique 15ct Gold Heart Locket with Aquamarine
A pretty locket from the turn of the last century, c1900. The locket is made from solid 15ct gold and has the remnants of the English hallmark to the back. This is well rubbed and the locket has been tested to verify the gold content. The locket is shaped as a heart and has two frames inside that can be removed to place your own photos behind. To the front is a little round gold rub over setting holding an aquamarine. This looks to have been a later addition, though in my opinion, it has been done in antiquity. The aquamarine is a lovely faceted old cut and has a good rich blue colour. The back is also engraved with the date 19-7-18.
The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain as pictured.
