• SOLD Antique 9ct Gold Amethyst & Emerald Spider Locket

This item is out of stock

A wonderful quality locket from the late Edwardian period, dated Birmingham 1919. The locket is made from 9ct gold and is hallmarked throughout with a full hallmark on the back, a 9ct hallmark on the bail and even a 9ct hallmark on one of the internal frames. The piece appears to be entirely original and is in excellent condition. It is a simple circle with a beautiful spider added to the front. The spider has an amethyst and a little green emerald to make up its body and is a lovely design. The gemstones could be a play on the suffragette colours that would have been so popular at the time, though there is nothing 'white' to represent purity on this piece.

The locket will come on an 18" 14kt gold fill chain as pictured.
