SOLD Antique 9ct Gold Turquoise Spacer Chain
The most beautiful and fairly heavy chain from the late Victorian period, c1880. The chain is made from solid 9ct gold and has a tab hallmark on the link next to the clasp that says 9c. It has a lovely belcher link that is solid and weighty and a classic barrel clasp. There are five turquoise spacers that have pinched collet settings along the length of the chain. Four are an equal size and the last at the centre point is a little larger. The smaller four are at matching points along the chain mirroring each other on either side and measure approx 6mm by 5mm. The larger, central turquoise measures approx 8mm by 7mm. The turquoise is all original and natural with some variation in colour and also showing a little porosity, commensurate with age. Its natural matrix is revealed to the back. A truly wonderful chain that is rare to find these days.
