A pretty ring from the Georgian and Victorian period. The centre of the ring likely started life on a finer gold band and dates to the late Georgian period, around 1820. At some point in antiquity, possibly later in the Victorian period, the shank has been changed to this wide gold band. I rather like the contrast and the alteration has been done with care and consideration. The ring is made from 9ct gold, which has a rosy look to the gold. The centrepiece is a lovely purple amethyst that is surrounded by petite seed pearls. It sits securely atop the centre of the gold band and the shank has a lovely flat dimension making it very comfortable on the finger.
