This item is out of stock

A wonderful pair of earrings made from antique components. The earrings have beautiful clear paste stones that have been set in pinched collet silver settings. These look to be from the mid Victorian period, c1860s, and the 9ct gold hooks have been added more recently, though the earrings came to me as they are. The paste stones are wonderful and bright and you would be forgiven for thinking these are diamonds! They have a lovely sparkle and are in exceptional condition.

Paste is a form of antique cut glass that was formulated in the early 18th Century in France to emulate real gemstones. It was, and still is, very popular and certain paste items have become incredibly collectible. These earrings are a lovely simple design to add some subtle sparkle to your earlobes.
