An incredible ring, believed to date to the first half of the 20th Century. This ring is a little bit of a conundrum. It appears to be Victorian in style, though the top and shank are certainly a marriage, and there are some anomalies across the piece. The shank is dated as Birmingham 1924, though the style is certainly earlier than that, and I am not sure whether this has been placed over an original hallmark as there is evidence of one on the inside of the shank. It is made from 9ct gold and both the top and the shank are hallmarked individually. The centrepiece of this special ring is the word 'Love' picked out in cabochon turquoise and pink spinel. In my opinion, if this is an original 'Love' ring, the letters would likely have all been in turquoise, though I also love this colour combination.

A bit of a puzzle piece in terms of origin and date, but it is certainly an unusual and rare find and creates a fabulous look on the finger. Please note, this ring should not get wet or be worn in water.
