SOLD Art Deco 9ct Gold Blue Agate Chunky Link Bracelet
A wonderful and unusual bracelet from the Art Deco period, c1930s. The bracelet is made from 9ct gold and has the makers mark of 'Smith & Pepper', a prolific jewellery maker from Birmingham, UK throughout most of the 20th Century. The bracelet has lovely chunky gold links that have a beautiful geometric shape. Set between each link are wonderful sugarloaf cabochon blue agates, individually claw set on gold frames. It is unusual to find blue agate in pieces of jewellery such as this and this stone has such a lovely colour and appearance. Verging on a soft royal blue, with a vein and pattern through the stone that is so typical of varieties of agate. This piece is in excellent condition and, due to the fact that the links are hollow, it is fairly lightweight on the wrist making it very easy to wear.
