• SOLD Art Deco 9ct Gold Scarab Pendant on Chain

    £0.00

This item is out of stock

A wonderful pendant from the Art Deco period, c1920s. The pendant has a lovely dark scarab that has hints of brown, green and copper to its shell with an entirely open back showing his little legs folded beneath him. The frame and matching chain has a slight rosy tint to it and the scarab is held in place with chunky little claws. Such a delicate piece. These types of scarabs became popular in the Victorian period and revived again in the 1920s due to the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922.

The pendant will come on a 14kt gold fill chain, similar to the one pictured.
