SOLD Art Deco Harlequin Gemstone Bracelet
A stunning bracelet from the Art Deco period, c1920s. The bracelet has the most wonderful array of coloured gemstones that have been individually set across the wrist. Each gemstone has its own square panel and the bracelet is typical of this period. The gemstones have all been put on the refractometer and the colourful range includes sapphire, peridot, amethyst, tourmaline, zircon, golden topaz, synthetic ruby and lemon quartz in a varied arrangement. Only one stone (the very emerald green one towards the edge) tests as glass. The others are all gemstones, with only the rubies seemingly synthetic or lab grown. There is a possibility that this bracelet started life with diamonds across the wrist, but there is no way of knowing this for sure as the change to coloured gemstones has been done seamlessly. Such a rare piece to find with all the gemstones in excellent condition.
The settings are made from 18ct white gold and have beautiful etching along the side. The bracelet part of this piece is testing as 14ct white gold. Such a stunning item that is fully articulated and fits against the wrist beautifully. The tongue clasp is very secure and there is an extra catch and safety chain for total security.
