SOLD Early Victorian 15kt Gold Flat Cut Garnet Ring
This stunning ring is from the late Georgian/early Victorian period, circa 1830 - 50s, and is made from 15kt gold. It has a beautiful array of flat cut garnet stones set in a rectangular cluster formation. The garnets have a superb colour in that they are somewhere between a deep red and a deep pink. They hint a little at the almandine garnet colour. They have been faceted to perfection allowing the light to play across the entire top of the ring, and the ring sits low to the finger making it incredibly wearable. The shoulders of the shank have a hint of gothic about them and could be attributed to the gothic revival period around this time.
