This item is out of stock

A pretty and simple pendant from the early Victorian period, c1850s. The pendant is made from 15ct gold that has a lovely rosy glow to it. The setting is a simple pinched collet setting and it holds the most beautiful bright purple amethyst. There is a wonderful depth of colour to this stone and the setting has a closed back, making it likely that the amethyst is foil backed, intensifying the colour. A lovely simple piece that really 'pops' on the neck.

The pendant will come on a 14kt gold fill chain as pictured.

    Details:

Materials - 15ct Gold (tested), Amethyst

    Age - C1850s

Size - The amethyst measures approx 13.5mm by 12mm excluding the bail.

Condition - Excellent. It is likely that this piece started life as a stick pin, though it has been altered to a pendant in antiquity. The bail is gold plated, not solid gold. I have left it as it is an antique bail.

    Weight - 2.27g pendant only.
