SOLD Edwardian 15ct Gold Swallow & Heart Necklace
A pretty necklace from the Edwardian period, c1905. I believe the necklace has been made up of antique components at some point in its life, though it came to me as it is. The little swallow may have started life as a stick pin and is 15ct gold. It has been converted expertly and it is difficult to know for sure. Hanging from its beak is a little 15ct gold heart, which has a lovely ridged design with a cultured pearl at the centre. I believe the heart dates a little later than the bird, possibly 1930s.
This is a typical design from the Edwardian period and all conversion has been done expertly trying to keep the integrity of the piece. The swallow hangs on a 9ct gold chain that matches perfectly.
