Edwardian 18ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Square Ring
A lovely example of this style of ring from the Edwardian period, c1915. The ring is made from 18ct gold and platinum, marked on the inside of the shank, and has the most beautiful cushion cut blue sapphire at the centre. The sapphire is around 4.2mm in diameter making it around 0.5ct and is surrounded by 10 little single cut diamonds. The setting has a pretty scalloped edge giving the ring a lovely feminine look and an open gallery. The sapphire is fairly deep meaning that its vibrant blue colour really shows and the pierced gallery allows the light to accentuate this when the ring is on the hand.
