SOLD Edwardian 18kt Gold Diamond Drop Earrings
A beautiful pair of diamond earrings from the late Edwardian/Art Deco period, c1915-25. The earrings are made from solid 18kt yellow and white gold and have the owl hallmark on the stem of the earrings, a French hallmark for foreign gold jewellery. They are beautifully made with three graduated sized diamonds, individually claw set along the length of the stem. The diamonds are all original and are a combination of old mine cut and old European diamonds; the bottom diamonds are old mine cuts and measure approx 4mm in diameter. The earrings are fully articulated along their length and have dormeuse fastenings making them very secure in the ear. The have an additional support at the back to ensure that they always hang correctly in the ear and do not get tangled up; a lovely sign of quality.
The photos of these earrings do not do these earrings justice; a difficult pair to capture.
