• SOLD Edwardian 9ct Gold Back & Front Rectangular Locket

This item is out of stock

A beautiful locket from the turn of the last Century, c1900. The locket is made from 9ct gold to the back and the front, while the inside is gold coloured metal. This was a common practice for lockets from this period. This is a particularly fine example and it has a soft oblong shape. It is engraved to the front and back with lovely ivy leaves. Ivy is said to symbolise love and fidelity and is typically given as a symbol of affection. Inside there are two frames with the original glass to one side and acetate to the other. These can be removed to place your own photos behind. As the locket has a good medium size, the photos could be easily seen inside.

The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.
