SOLD Edwardian 9ct Gold Love Note Envelope Pendant
This item is RESERVED. Please do not purchase
A lovely piece from the turn of the last century, c1900. This piece is exquisitely made in the shape of an envelope. The envelope flap opens on a hinge to reveal a flat compartment where the original gold 'note' is stored: a plain gold plaque that could be engraved if required. At the centre of the closed flap is a little seed pearl, that also acts as a sort of clasp as the envelope seals over it. A beautifully crafted example of a love token from this period.
Chain is for display only.
Materials - 9ct Gold (tested)
Age - C1900s
Size - Approx 17mm long by 11.5mm wide. Bale adds 5mm to the length
Condition - Very good. I have had trouble removing the gold 'note' from inside, but I have no doubt that it can be removed if required as it certainly moves around inside the envelope.
