SOLD Edwardian 9ct Gold Opaline & Faux Pearl Earrings
A pretty pair of earrings from the late Edwardian period, c1915-20. The earrings are made from 9ct gold and have lovely angular gold frames. Within the frames and hanging from the bottom, there are beautiful oval opaline glass stones that have been bezel set. Opaline is a type of semi translucent glass and in jewellery has a look reminiscent of opals. These lovely examples show foil within the glass to give the impression of the rainbow colours of natural opals. There are also two little faux pearls in leaf settings giving the overall look a floral design. A pretty pair of earrings with a lovely glow of colour.
