• SOLD Edwardian Solid 9ct Gold Aide Memoire Pendant

This item is out of stock

An incredible piece from the beginning of the Edwardian period, dated Birmingham 1901. This is an aide memoire; an aid to the memory. Essentially it is a little notepad covered in rich 9ct gold. The gold is entirely solid and fully hallmarked to the front and back. It has a wonderful hammered texture that actually makes the gold glitter as the light changes and inside is a little notepad that looks to have hardly been used. The aide memoire has a little solid gold pencil clasping it together, which still has its original lead that retracts with a turn of the ball at the top. When the pencil is removed from its position on the side, the front springs open. This piece is in complete working order and is in entirely original condition. It is pristine and a lovely example; even the note paper has gold edges. A true collector's piece that could be worn on a chain.
