SOLD Edwardian Sterling Silver Pale Blue Enamel Heart Locket
An absolutely wonderful locket from the Edwardian period, c1905. The locket is made from sterling silver and has the most beautiful pale blue guilloché enamel all across the front and back with a star design at the centre. The locket is in beautiful condition and is heart shaped. It is a fairly large size and has a real presence on the neck. To the front is a little split pearl in a gold bezel at the centre. Inside, there is a hart shaped frame with its original domed glass. A wonderful locket in excellent condition with a lovely quality weight to it.
The locket hangs on a sterling silver chain that has a gold wash to it making it a great hybrid chain. The chains is approx 17 1/4" long. I feel the locket could be worn on a gold or silver chain and would sit comfortably either way. The internal frame has two little grooves around the edges to allow you to use a pin to take the locket face out. It is a lovely tight fit.
