Georgian 5 Stone Turquoise Ring
A pretty and simple ring from the Georgian period, circa 1800s. The ring has five natural turquoise gemstones set across the finger in a half hoop style. The turquoise are fairly pale and show a little gradation in colour as you would expect from a ring of this age. The gemstones are all set in silver with a stylised pinched collet setting. The ring has a classic split shank, which is very fine and tests as around 12kt gold. The gold has a very pale appearance, again, not uncommon from gold from this period. An elegant ring with a lovely sense of history.
