SOLD Georgian Ice Blue Paste Necklace with Pear Drop
An absolutely stunning Georgian paste necklace, circa 1800. The necklace is made from sterling silver and set with beautiful paste stones throughout. The pastes are clear with a gentle ice blue appearance. The depth of this colour changes according to the light, as demonstrated in the photos, and the paste stones are truly wonderful. The necklace is beautifully decorative with a floral design at the centre front matching the centre back hidden clasp. It has a detachable pear shaped paste drop. The drop is not original to the piece, though it is from the same era, and is clear paste without the icy blue effect. This does not notice when worn. The drop can be removed and the necklace can be worn alone as a collar. A truly stunning piece; this would make a beautiful necklace for a bride or other such special occasion.
