SOLD Georgian Natural Lapis Lazuli Gold Ring
This beautiful and rare ring is from the Georgian period, circa 1820s-30s, and it is made from 18ct gold. It has a wonderful vibrant blue lapis lazuli stone set to the centre, which is rectangular in shape and set into a gold surround. The shank of the ring is typical of the period and has a detailed etched scroll design around the shoulders and halfway around the shank on each side.
The beauty of the natural lapis lazuli stone looks wonderful on the hand and is complimented wonderfully by the soft gold. The lapis lazuli stone is a replacement to the original and this ring most likely started life with a seal at its centre.
