• SOLD Georgian Rock Crystal Quartz and Paste Silver Flower Earrings

This item is out of stock

An interesting and beautiful pair of earrings from the late Georgian period, c1820s. The earrings have wonderful clear quartz, or rock crystal, set in pinched collet silver settings at the top, hanging from which are beautiful quatrefoil designs, also set with clear quartz. At the centre of the quatrefoil is a foil backed paste stone, which has incredible sparkle and is a rose cut. The earrings are made from sterling silver, backed by 12ct gold, and are a delightful pair of Georgian earrings in excellent condition. The silver has a lovely antique patina. They have 9ct yellow gold ear wires; a replacement for whatever was there originally and very in keeping with the age and style.

In some lights, the top stone has a very pale blue appearance giving these gemstones a very slight hint of aquamarine.
