• SOLD Late Edwardian Silver Saphiret Dormeuse Earrings

This item is out of stock

A beautiful pair of original earrings from the late Edwardian period, c1915. The earrings are made from 800 silver and have classic Edwardian 6 claw settings. The stones are a beautiful pair of saphiret stones. Saphiret is a type of blue glass that has had gold added to it to give it a wonderful blue to brown appearance in natural light. It has a wonderful shimmering effect and these stones are a lovely example. They have been faceted to resemble a gemstone and the light moves around them perfectly. The earrings have dormeuse fastenings making them very secure in the ear.
