Late Georgian Large 9ct Gold Carnelian Cross Pendant
A wonderful and unusual pendant from the late Georgian period, c1820s. The pendant is made from beautiful faceted carnelian beads that have been threaded onto thick gold wire with simple gold spacers. The gold is solid 9ct gold and is a lovely soft colour. The beads have a deep burnt orange colour, as you would expect from this subtle gem, and it is unusual for it to be faceted in this manner. The cross has the lovely original bail, a simple flat profile ring that would fit a fairly large chain through if required. This really is a rare find and a lovely large size too.
