SOLD Late Georgian Ruby & Rose Diamond Giardinetti Ring
A pretty and delicate giardinetti ring from the late Georgian period, circa 1830. Giardinetti means 'little garden' and this theme is often found in jewelry from this period showing delicate flowers sprouting from a little pot or, in this case, a fairly elaborate floral design, mainly studded with gems. The rose diamonds in this ring are diamond slices, though still have a pretty sparkle as they are in closed back settings and reflect the precious metal behind them. There is a single ruby in the design, which is a beautiful deep pink colour.
