SOLD Late Victorian 15ct Gold Ruby Circle Locket
A pretty locket from the late Victorian period, c1890s. The locket is made from 15ct gold and is a lovely puffed circle shape. To the front are some pretty leaf-like engravings. These have a similarity to a laurel wreath, an emblem often used during this period to symbolise victory, honour and peace. At the centre of the design is a beautiful vibrant pink ruby. The ruby is a fairly good size for this piece, measuring approx 3.8mm by 3mm and has a cushion cut shape. To the back is a removable circular locket opening. The locket is finished with a little twisted gold edge around the whole circumference and around the setting of the central ruby.
The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain as pictured.
