SOLD Late Victorian Ruby & Diamond Navette RIng
A beautiful ring from the late Victorian period, circa 1890. The ring has 5 graduated calibrated bright pink rubies as its centerpiece. These are all original and fit in their setting and with each other beautifully. The rubies are surrounded by rose cut diamonds, which sparkle prettily and offset the rubies to perfection. The shank of the ring is made from 14kt rose gold and the diamonds are mounted in silver, customary at the time.
The shape of ring is a navette shape, so called due to its likeness to a boat shape. Navette means 'little ship' in French.
