SOLD Victorian Repoussé 9kt Gold Buckle Ring
A beautiful example of a buckle motif ring from the late Victorian period. The ring is made from 9kt rose gold and has wonderful repoussé work all around the shank. The repoussé depicts ferns and flowers and is in excellent condition with no signs of wear. The shank is a fairly wide design, measuring approx 7.5mm wide and the ring is fully hallmarked on the inside of the shank with English hallmarks dating it to Chester 1901.
The buckle design was commonly used during the Victorian period and is said to represent eternity, loyalty, strength and protection.
