SOLD Victorian 15ct Gold Opal, Diamond & Blue Enamel Tassel Locket
A wonderful piece from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The locket is made from 15ct gold and has a beautiful floral shaped design with intricate applied gold wirework throughout; a nod to the Etruscan Revival jewellery that was popular during the later part of the Victorian period. At the centre is a lovely frill of deep blue enamel, which is studded with little rose cut diamonds in crimped individual settings. The diamond settings act as the claws of the little opal gemstone at the centre. The opal has a lovely pretty glow and is a beautiful focal point. To the back is a removable round locket frame to allow you to place your own momento or photo behind. And to finish the lovely locket is a drop of graduated gold tassels.
The chain in the pictures is for display only.
