• SOLD Victorian 15ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Double Snake Ring

This item is out of stock

A beautiful example of a snake ring from the mid to late Victorian period. The ring has two snakes intertwined, one with a natural vibrant pink ruby in its head and the other with a beautiful rose cut diamond. Each of the stones is approximately 2.5mm in diameter and they both glimmer prettily in their open backed settings.

The snake was a popular motif in the Victorian period due to the fact that the Queen's engagement ring was a snake and they came to symbolise everlasting love. This pretty ring, with its smiling snake faces, could be worn alone or as part of a stack due to its easy-wearing size.
