• SOLD Victorian 15ct Gold Swallow Pendant with Ruby Rose

This item is out of stock

A pretty pendant from the Victorian period, c1880. The swallow is beautifully crafted out of 15ct gold and has magnificent feathers etched into him. The swallow holds a flower in his mouth, which to my mind represents a rose. The flower is a beautiful pink ruby that is an old cut and claw set. The swallow has evidently been adapted from something else, possibly a stick pin, and has a hidden loop behind his tail.

The pendant hangs on a 14kt gold fill chain that measures 18" long and is hallmarked on the clasp.
