SOLD Victorian 18ct Gold Diamond & Ruby Five Stone Ring
A spectacular five stone ring from the Victorian period, c1880s. The ring has an 18ct gold shank with lovely decorative shoulders and the gemstones are set in silver with open backs to allow the light to shine through. To the centre top is a beautiful deep pink faceted oval ruby that is flanked by graduated chunky old mine cut diamonds. The total diamond content is approximately 1.4 carats with the central ruby estimated at 1.2cts. The diamonds are around I-J colour and approximately VS clarity. All gem estimations are given whilst the gemstones remain set and are based on their approximate mm measurements. The ruby looks to be a replacement to whatever was set in the centre originally, though it is a beautiful stone and has been verified by Wards Gemstones in Hatton Garden (please see report in final picture). The ring came to me as it is and is a wonderful and striking statement piece.
