SOLD Victorian 18ct Gold Opal & Diamond 'Eye' Ring
A beautiful and elegant ring from the late Victorian period, c1890s. The ring is made from 18ct gold and seems to have the remainder of a French hallmark; the import mark of an owl on the outside of the shank. The setting is silver and has a beautiful colourful opal at the centre. The opal is notoriously difficult to picture and this one has a lovely play of colour that is difficult to capture in the photographs. Surrounding the opal is a lovely ring of old rough cut diamonds. Opal and diamond is a lovely combination and this is a lovely unusual design.
This ring should be worn with care as it is a fairly delicate piece.
