• SOLD Victorian 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Cluster Ring

This item is out of stock

A beautiful and unusual ring from the Victorian period, c1880s. The ring seems to be a marriage of two Victorian components, with the shank dating to the 1880s and the centrepiece dating to around the 1850s. This adjustment has been done expertly in antiquity and the result is extremely pretty. The centrepiece is a lovely floral cluster with a natural ruby at the centre surrounded by six rose cut diamonds. The stones are all set in silver, as was customary during this early part of the Victorian period, and they glitter prettily. The cluster sits in a circular yellow gold surround with a yellow gold split shank that has little flowers set to the side. Such a pretty design and very complimentary to the centre of the ring itself.

This ring should be worn with care as the stones are in closed back settings and would do well to keep away from water.
