A wonderful, vibrant pair of earrings from the mid Victorian period, c1870s. The earrings are made from 18ct gold and have 9ct gold hooks that have been added/converted at a later time. They have the most beautiful elaborate gold settings with little gold balls all the way around the edges. To the centre is a bright turquoise stone with the back of the earrings being a domed gold closed back. The stone is glass, though it has the magnificent look of turquoise. These are a lovely large size making them very eye-catching in the ear.
