SOLD Victorian 9ct Gold Banded Agate Octagonal Locket
A lovely locket from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The locket has been made in the shape of an octagon and seems to test as solid 9ct gold with a high carat gold wash over the top. This was a common practice during this period to give the gold a certain lustre. To the centre is a beautiful domed bullseye agate with a deep black/brown colour and one white stripe across the centre. To the back is a little hinged door with a glass front. This can be opened with ease to place your own momento or photo behind.
The locket will come on a fine 14kt gold fill chain. The chain in the picture is for sale separately.
