• SOLD Victorian 9ct Gold Cased Lily of the Valley Seal

This item is out of stock

A lovely little seal from the Victorian period, c1860s. The seal is in lovely condition and is made from 9ct gold cased metal. This is a common method of construction for this type of fob and the casing is in good condition on this particular piece giving it an overall look of 9ct gold. To the bottom is a lovely oval piece of chalcedony that has a delicate carving of a Lily of the Valley. Lily of the Valley is said to symbolise rebirth and purity as well as a return to happiness. It is also representative of motherhood and this would make a lovely gift for a new mother. There is some remnants of wax within the carving; this could be cleaned carefully if required.

The seal will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.
