• SOLD Victorian 9ct Gold Sapphire Ouroboros Ring

This item is out of stock

A pretty and delicate ouroboros ring from the late Victorian period, c1900. The ring is made from 9ct gold and depicts a snake eating its own tail, the symbol of an ouroboros. Historically, ouroboros came to represent infinity or wholeness. This example has a lovely jovial face and has blue sapphires for eyes as well as a larger blue sapphire set into his head. The tail has a pretty point leading into the mouth and the shank is etched to represent a snakes skin. A fabulous ring for any gold stack.
