• SOLD Antique Acorn Diamond Drop Earrings

This item is out of stock

A beautiful pair of earrings from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The earrings are made from 18ct gold with silver fronts, as is customary of jewellery from this period. They are beautiful quality and have wonderful rose diamond slices set into closed back settings. The diamonds sparkle prettily and have a lovely white appearance due to their closed back settings. These earrings are almost as beautiful from the back as they are from the front with wonderful etching and design creating acorns out of the drops. Acorns have been used for centuries in jewellery and are said to bring good luck whilst also symbolising strength and potential; the idea taken from the proverb 'great oaks from little acorns grow'. A wonderful quality pair of earrings that look beautiful in the ear.
