SOLD Victorian Austro Hungarian Hand Painted Cupid Earrings
Stunning Austro Hungarian earrings from the late Victorian period. These show classic styling for Austro Hungarian jewelry and are made from 800 silver gilt. They have scrolled enamel work around a central frame, which holds a hand-painted cupid on porcelain. The cupids are beautifully painted and are set in frill style edges. The earrings have natural turquoise, pearls and almandine garnets dotted around the scroll work. One garnet on the top has been replaced with a pink paste stone at some point in antiquity. The others have all been tested as garnets.
The back of the earrings has the wonderful etching work, customary to these types of pieces, that shows true craftmanship. Beautiful earrings that look stunning and extremely eye-catching when worn.
