This item is out of stock

A wonderful ring from the mid Victorian period. The ring has a beautiful salt and pepper old mine cut diamond at the centre, which is fairly substantial in size. It measures approximately 6mm in diameter making it around 3/4 of a carat. The round diamond is set in a square setting with black enamel creating a frame. The black enamel continues around the full circle of the band and the ring is made from 18ct gold. The enamel has a lost a little of its gloss, but otherwise is in excellent condition.

There are worn hallmarks on the inside of the band. It was assayed in London and judging by the shape of the lion's head, dates to around the 1860s. The original date letter has rubbed and is difficult to decipher.
