SOLD Victorian Dendritic Agate & Paste Large Ring
An absolutely stunning ring from the mid Victorian period, c1860s. The ring has likely been converted from a brooch at some point in its existence and is now a wonderful cocktail sized ring. The centre stone is a gorgeous dendritic agate; a beautiful gemstone that has a slightly haunting quality. Surrounding this stunning gem is a circle of black dot paste. Paste such as this was created to mimic diamonds and the black dot was added to represent the wide culets seen in diamond cuts at the time.
The entire ring is made from silver and looks incredible on the hand.
