SOLD Victorian Large Silver Aesthetic Movement Locket
A wonderful locket from the late Victorian period, c1890s. The locket is a gentle representation of the Aesthetic Movement where more emphasis was placed on the artistic craft than the politics and society at the time. This particular piece has a lovely plain centre with a raised edge, perhaps for an engraving if required, with a beautiful floral design around the outside. The plain centre is framed by yellow gold and the leaves and stems of the flowers are also picked out in gold, whilst the flower heads remain in silver. The locket is made from sterling silver with a lovely large original bail and a beautiful scalloped edge. Inside, there are two frames that can be removed to place your own photos behind and the original glass remains in both. A beautiful large locket in excellent condition.
The chain shown is for sale separately.
