SOLD Victorian Opaline & Blue Paste Pendant
A stunning pendant from the early Victorian period, c1840-50. The pendant showcases beautiful opaline, which is a form of glass that resembles opals and was used in jewelry in the late Georgian, early Victorian periods. Just like opals, the glass seems to have a slightly milky appearance with other colours running through it. The opaline is beautifully complimented by vibrant blue paste, which sits in pinched collet settings.
The pendant is made from silver with a 9ct gold back. It is rare to find a piece in such marvellous condition and this one is particularly special as it has its original blue paste studded bale. A wonderful collectors piece.
