• SOLD Victorian Perpignan Garnet Earrings

This item is out of stock

A pretty pair of earrings from the Victorian period, c1840s. The earrings have wonderful perpignan garnets set in 18ct gold. The garnets are so called due to the association with their multi faceted cut to the front, similar to that of rose diamonds, and their beautiful blood red colour. These earrings are simple in their design and the garnets rest in their original setting, which likely have foil in their closed backs. They have been adapted to earrings at a later date with 9ct gold shepherds hooks.
