Victorian Silver Crowned Heart Pearl & Paste Ring
A beautiful and striking ring from the Victorian period. The ring is made from 900 silver and is French in origin. It has a wonderful bulbous heart at the centre, which sits prominently on the finger. On top of the heart is a fabulous crown set with seed pearls and little pink paste stones. The paste are deep rose cuts and have a lovely vibrant pink colour. A crown atop a heart symbolises the wearer as 'the ruler of my heart'. Such a romantic connotation. To the shoulders there are little fleur-de-lis emblems. This emblem has many meanings, though mainly it is said to represent purity and perfection. The shank of the ring has a wheatsheaf design all the way around. So much detail in such a small piece; this ring is a small size and would make a wonderful pinky ring.
This ring should be worn with care due to the way in which the pearls and paste have been set.
