• SOLD Victorian Silver & Rose Gold Niello Bracelet

This item is out of stock

A beautiful and unusual bangle bracelet from the late Victorian period, c1890. The bracelet is a variation of niello, typically crafted from 800 silver and rose gold plating. This bracelet has a body of oxidised silver, giving it a lovely grey colour, and is complimented with a rose gold twist around the whole circumference. The rose gold looks to be a layer of gold on top of silver that has then been wrapped decoratively around the bangle. The bangle crosses at the top and has lovely gold balls to either end. It also has graduated balls all along the top of the wrist with the larger one at the centre measuring approx 5mm in diameter and the smaller on either end measuring approx 1.8mm. A truly beautiful and rare item; I have not seen another quite the same. It has a secure catch and a safety chain for added security.
