SOLD Victorian Snake Earrings with Hematite Beads
These pretty earrings are from the late Victorian period and are wonderful simple snake heads made from 15kt gold. Hanging from the snakes' mouths are two steely grey hematite beads. Hematite was widely used in the Victorian period due to the fashion for mourning jewelry at the time. Hematite has a wonderful magnetic glow that is a perfect contrast to the yellow gold of the snakes.
